Beer kilometer - 2004, W139, Loods 6, 6015 cans of 50 cl, variable dimensions, Amsterdam
August 6th 2004, 6 PM. In 1979, the american sculptor Walter de Maria realized the installation The Broken Kilometer. The monumental artwork was set up on the ground and made of 500 bars of 2 meters long arranged in strict geometrical rules. The post production of this piece with 6015 beer cans therefore turns the work into a consumable and performative sculpture.
