NICOLAS FLOC’H PRODUCTIVE STRUCTURES EXHIBITION AT GALERIE DES PONCHETTES From October the 3rd 2014 to January the 4th 2015 CURATOR : FLORENCE FORTERRE, ASSISTED BY AYMERIC JEUDY FOR THE ORGANISATION DEL’ART For years now, Nicolas Floc’h has developed a sensible work, questioning the relation between the living world and the art world. The methods of consomption, production and of perception of the real, are are at the core of his concerns, with a recurring theme, probably due to his Breton origins : the marine environment. Observed, mapped, filmed, performed, the artist has realized several artworks about both the resources of the sea and the relations humans have with it, the professions, the use or the tools - from the net to the fishing rod. He currently works on an inventory of artificial reefs. His first researches have led him to a lot of countries to study, picture and film these reefs. There are some of these reefs near Nice (France) that the artist has explored. The process of work gives birth to the production of sculptures, photographs and videos. By raising public awareness to the marine world and its préservation, the artist offers in the same time a scientific research and an artistic project. Its production is like an inventory of the forms of these marine architectures. This exhibition has the support of the City of Nice, the Conseil régional Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (CAC Arts visuels), the Conseil général des Alpes- Maritimes. It is produced with the help of FRAC PACA and Villa Arson. This exhibition is organised in the framework of Market Zone, artistic manifestation in public space. www.de-lart.org / info@de-lart.org
